The Senior Developer provides senior hands-on development expertise for AFSC’s Salesforce platform and adjacent enterprise applications. This role designs, builds, tests, deploys, and supports secure, scalable, and maintainable solutions that enable AFSC’s digital services and business capabilities.
The role works closely with Technical Leads, Architects, Product Owners, Business Analysts, Quality Assurance, DevOps, Security, Operations, vendors, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions aligned with enterprise architecture, Salesforce platform standards, integration patterns, and delivery priorities.
What will you be responsible for?
- Design, develop, and maintain Salesforce and related platform solutions using Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), OmniStudio, Flows, APIs, integrations, platform configuration, and nCino capabilities where applicable.
- Build scalable and secure applications by developing reusable components, automation, integrations, and services that adhere to Salesforce best practices, security standards, and platform limitations.
- Develop and support OmniStudio capabilities where applicable, including OmniScripts, DataRaptors, Integration Procedures, deployment, versioning, and performance considerations.
- Collaborate on solution design and delivery by partnering with Technical Leads, Architects, Product Owners, and stakeholders to translate business needs into practical, supportable technical solutions.
- Support the full software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, technical design, development, testing, deployment, release management, and ongoing production support.
- Maintain application quality and reliability through unit testing, code reviews, documentation, troubleshooting, performance optimization, and resolution of complex defects and production issues.
- Contribute to DevOps and release processes by using Git-based source control, CI/CD pipelines, environment management, deployment planning, and production readiness practices.
- Promote continuous improvement and technical excellence by mentoring team members, advancing development standards, reducing technical debt, recommending modernization opportunities, and staying current with Salesforce and cloud technologies.
What are we looking for from you?
- Extensive Salesforce development experience in enterprise environments, including Apex, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Flows, OmniStudio, DataRaptors, Integration Procedures, security models, and platform configuration.
- Strong software engineering expertise with deep knowledge of object-oriented programming, SOLID principles, clean code practices, secure development, and reusable design patterns.
- Advanced problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex application, integration, performance, data, and production issues.
- Experience designing and integrating enterprise solutions, including REST APIs, middleware, event-driven architectures, Platform Events, Change Data Capture (CDC), and related integration technologies.
- Solid understanding of Salesforce architecture and platform constraints, including governor limits, bulk processing, security, sharing models, scalability, performance, and maintainability considerations.
- Experience with Agile delivery and DevOps practices, including SDLC, CI/CD pipelines, Git-based source control, code reviews, release management, Azure DevOps (or similar tools), and environment management.
- Strong collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly, contribute to architectural decisions, and build effective working relationships across teams.
- Proven leadership and continuous improvement mindset, including mentoring developers, identifying risks and technical debt, promoting best practices, and contributing to a positive, learning-focused team culture.

Qualifications
- College Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of related software development experience.
- 3+ years of hands-on Salesforce development experience preferred.
- Salesforce Certifications: Platform Developer I, Administrator, Platform App Builder, JavaScript Developer I, Platform Developer II, OmniStudio Developer.
