Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Class 1 Truck Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves safely operating heavy-duty trucks to deliver freight across various locations, ensuring timely and efficient service. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations, vehicle maintenance, and safety procedures, contributing to the seamless movement of goods and supporting our company's logistics operations.

Duties

Safely operate Class 1 trucks for long-haul and local deliveries, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
Load and unload freight using forklifts or other heavy equipment as needed, ensuring proper handling and securement of cargo
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to identify maintenance needs or safety issues
Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
Perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary to ensure vehicle readiness
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse personnel, and clients regarding delivery schedules and issues
Operate forklifts and other heavy equipment to facilitate loading/unloading processes when required
Assist in warehouse operations related to freight handling and inventory management as needed

Qualifications

Valid Class 1 commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record
Experience in commercial driving, freight transportation, or related fields preferred
Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts and perform basic automotive repairs is a plus
Knowledge of safety protocols for heavy equipment operation and transportation regulations
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and vehicle maintenance records
Physical ability to load/unload freight, operate heavy machinery, and perform vehicle inspections
Prior experience with heavy equipment operation or automotive repair is advantageous but not mandatory
