Full job description

We are a third-generation family-owned business with a modern, flat organizational structure offering solid opportunities for career advancement.

We're looking for a full-time assembler, an enthusiastic, hardworking team-player, who uses a variety of tools and equipment to assemble mechanical components into finished products, who is comfortable reading the specifications in a lighting manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities and Duties

Read and follow wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, bills of material, and other written procedures to assemble components accurately.
Position, align, fasten, and install wiring and electrical/electronic components to form assemblies or subassemblies.
Use hand tools such as screwdrivers, drills, pliers, hammers, and other essential tools following specific training.
Assist in moving finished products to the quality control area for testing.
Identify product defects or issues in assembly processes and report them to the lead hand or supervisors.
Support other assemblers, lead hands, or supervisors as needed.
Rework assembled components and products based on engineering-specified modifications.
Perform tasks in line with quality standards and safety procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area; assembly stations must be cleared at the end of each day.
Wear protective gear, including goggles, safety shoes, and anti-static wristbands, as required.
Assist with functionality testing and packaging of finished products when necessary.
Update or maintain assembly records and reports using Google Sheets or similar software.
Communicate status updates via email and maintain logs using internal systems.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
1-2 years of mechanical assembly experience is preferred; relevant prior experience is an asset.
Basic proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Google Suite (e.g., Google Docs, Google Sheets) for documentation, task reporting, and communication.
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and wiring diagrams.
Speed and accuracy in performing repetitive tasks.
High level of concentration and attention to detail.
Strong self-motivation and communication skills.
Good written and verbal English skills.
Successful completion of the trial period.

Physical Demands and Abilities:

Ability to lift and move boxes up to 20 lbs.
Regularly perform repetitive tasks.
Manual dexterity for assembling parts quickly and accurately.
Good vision, particularly colour vision.
