Position Summary

Reporting to the Restaurant Manager, the Restaurant Cleaner is responsible for maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and presentation across all restaurant and public areas. This role plays a key part in ensuring a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for guests and team members.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties in various restaurant outlets:

Cleaning floors, including carpet and tile surfaces, using vacuums, mops and related tools and equipment.
Daily cleaning of windows and window frames
Thorough cleaning and sanitization of public washrooms
Cleaning wooden ledges, railings, chairs, and benches
Wet dusting artificial flowers and watering plants
Dusting and cleaning ceiling vents and door trims
Polishing brass signage and trim
Ensuring all cleaning tasks are conducted with health, safety, and sanitation standards
Regular monitoring and maintenance of floor conditions to prevent slip and fall hazards (e.g., promptly cleaning spills, placing wet floor signage, ensuring proper use of cleaning products)
Proper use and storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment in accordance with WHMIS guidelines
Reporting maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Requirements

Outstanding attention to detail in cleanliness, presentation, and tidiness
Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience in a restaurant, hotel, or similar environment is considered an asset
Commitment to quality and hospitality during all interactions with guests and employees
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively within a team
Ability to read and understand English
Working knowledge of cleaning equipment and tools & WHMIS as it pertains to mixing chemicals.
Knowledge of proper sanitation and cleaning techniques
Ability to meet the physical requirements of the job (lifting up to 50 lbs, bending, kneeling, reaching)
Secondary School Diploma or equivalent education/experience required

Work Conditions

Must be able to work flexible shifts including days, nights, weekends, and holidays
Ability to work in a fast-paced restaurant environment with high cleanliness standards
