We are currently looking for a hardworking, charismatic individual to join our team as a CNC Machine Operator at our Guelph, Ontario location.
The CNC Machine Operator is responsible for precision machining, fabrication, assembly, set-up, and operate both CNC and conventional machine tools to produce precision parts and component. The Machinist will operate a variety of machine tools to cut or grind metal, plastic, or other materials to make or modify parts or products with precise dimensions, inspect machined parts and tooling in order to maintain quality control standards and any other duties required.
Shift: Monday to Friday; 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables or study sample parts to determine machining operation to be performed and plan best sequence of operations.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables.
- Set up and adjust production machineries/tools.
- Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances
- Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments (e.g., micrometers, calipers)
- Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of conventional and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools.
- Clean machines and immediate work areas.
- Cut and transport raw materials.
- Read and interpret work orders.
- Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines in order to produce quality parts.
- Monitor feeds and speeds of machines during machining process to ensure same quality as mentioned above.
- Experience with Computer numerical control (CNC) machines.
- Experience Drill presses, engine lathes, milling machines, sawing machine.
- Report all safety and personnel conflict related issues to your manager.
- All other duties as required.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma with strong mathematical and technical skills
- Experience in the programming and operation of CNC equipment and the ability to operate manual machinery found in the Engineering Machine Shop would be preferred.
- SolidWorks knowledge is an asset.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office products.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Good problem-solving skills and ability to offer creative solutions.
- Ability to plan and multi-task.
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently or in a team environment.
- Physical stamina and dexterity for type of work
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted.
- Ability to stay on feet for long periods of time.
- Keen attention to detail.
- Able to work on a team but be self-motivated and independent at times.
