Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Administrator to join our IT team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our organisation’s IT infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proactive professional with strong technical expertise in system administration, computer networking, and cloud services. Responsibilities

Manage and maintain Windows Server environments, including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy configurations.
Administer Linux-based systems and utilise scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash (Unix shell) for automation tasks.
Oversee network infrastructure including TCP/IP configuration, VPNs, firewalls, and switches to ensure secure connectivity across the organisation.
Support virtualisation platforms such as VMware and utilise cloud services like AWS and Azure for deployment and management of resources.
Monitor system performance, perform regular updates, patches, backups, and disaster recovery procedures to minimise downtime.
Configure and manage Microsoft Office applications, SharePoint sites, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and organisational collaboration tools.
Implement security measures including firewall management, VPN setup, and system hardening to protect against cyber threats.
Provide technical support to staff regarding hardware, software issues, and network connectivity; deliver excellent customer service.
Analyse system logs and network traffic to identify potential issues or security breaches; generate reports for management review.
Document system configurations, procedures, and policies; assist in planning IT projects aligned with organisational objectives.

Experience

Proven experience in system administration within a complex IT environment.
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server (including Active Directory), Linux systems, VMware virtualisation platforms, and cloud services such as AWS or Azure.
Hands-on experience with computer networking concepts including TCP/IP protocols, DNS/DHCP configuration, VPNs, firewalls, and TCP/UDP troubleshooting.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell and Bash for automation purposes.
Familiarity with SQL databases and Python programming is desirable but not essential.
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills in English; capable of explaining technical issues clearly to non-technical users.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail. Pay: $80,000.00-$85,000.00 per year
