Sales Representative
Location: Surrey, British Columbia
Territory: Lower Mainland, Interior BC, Vancouver Island/Victoria, and Alberta
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced and driven Sales Representative to be based in Surrey, BC, with responsibility for developing and managing business across the Lower Mainland, Interior BC, Vancouver Island/Victoria, and Alberta. This role is ideal for a results-oriented sales professional with a strong technical sales background, preferably within millwright services, fabrication, engineering services, and dock and door solutions.
The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building long-term client relationships, and growing revenue across a full range of services, including:
- Dock and door sales
- Supply and installation
- Preventive maintenance and service programs
This is a strategic and hands-on sales role requiring a strong understanding of industrial and commercial operations, consultative selling skills, and the ability to work with customers across multiple industries.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute a sales strategy to grow business across the assigned territory.
- Promote and sell the company’s full range of services, including millwright, fabrication, engineering, dock and door systems, installation, repairs, and preventive maintenance programs.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in industrial, manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, food processing, commercial, and related sectors.
- Build, maintain, and strengthen relationships with new and existing customers, consultants, contractors, plant managers, maintenance managers, operations leaders, and procurement teams.
- Conduct site visits to assess customer needs and recommend appropriate technical solutions and service offerings.
- Prepare and present proposals, quotations, service agreements, and maintenance program solutions tailored to customer requirements.
- Coordinate with internal operations, engineering, fabrication, and service teams to ensure smooth project handover and successful execution.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and lead generation through closing and post-sale account development.
- Follow up on leads, quotations, and service opportunities in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain accurate records of customer activity, pipeline status, forecasts, and account plans.
- Attend industry events, networking functions, trade shows, and client meetings to promote the company’s services and expand market presence.
- Monitor market trends, customer needs, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities within the assigned regions.
- Travel regularly throughout BC and Alberta as required to support business development and customer engagement.
Qualifications & Experience
- 8–10 years of sales experience, preferably in technical sales or industrial/commercial service sales.
- Proven experience in business development, account management, and territory growth.
- Strong preference for candidates with experience in one or more of the following industries:
- Loading dock and overhead door systems
- Maintenance/service contract sales
- Industrial equipment or facility solutions
- Same-industry experience is considered a strong asset.
- Demonstrated ability to sell both project-based work and recurring service/preventive maintenance programs.
- Strong understanding of industrial and commercial customer environments.
- Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into practical customer solutions.
- Self-motivated, organized, and capable of managing a large geographic territory independently.
- Proficiency with CRM systems, Microsoft Office, and sales reporting tools.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel frequently.
Preferred Background
- Technical, dock and door sales background preferred.
- Experience working with customers in manufacturing, distribution, warehousing, construction, property management, transportation, or industrial operations.
- Familiarity with service-based selling, preventative maintenance agreements, and capital equipment/project sales is an asset.
