Join Our Team

St. Lawrence Optometry is seeking a friendly, organized, and patient-focused Patient Care Coordinator to join our growing team. As the first and last point of contact for our patients, you will play a vital role in creating a welcoming and professional experience while helping ensure the smooth operation of our clinics.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working with people, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is interested in building a career within healthcare and optometry.

About the Role

As an Administrative Assistant, you will support both our patients and clinical team through a variety of front-office and administrative responsibilities. You will be responsible for appointment coordination, patient communication, insurance processing, and supporting clinic flow throughout the day.

Key Responsibilities

Welcome and assist patients in a professional and friendly manner
Schedule appointments and manage clinic calendars using practice management software
Answer incoming phone calls and respond to patient inquiries
Process payments, insurance claims, and patient transactions
Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
Support patient check-in and check-out processes
Assist with patient pre-testing and preparation for examinations as needed
Coordinate communication between patients, doctors, and team members
Support general administrative duties to ensure efficient clinic operations

What We're Looking For

Previous administrative, reception, or customer service experience preferred but willing to train the right candidate
Healthcare, optometry, ophthalmology, dental, or medical office experience is considered an asset
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Exceptional customer service abilities
Strong organizational and time-management skills
Ability to multitask in a busy environment
Comfortable learning and working with technology and software systems
Self-motivated with a positive attitude
Reliable, dependable, and committed to consistent attendance
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
