Summary

LeeCaring Communities is seeking a compassionate and experienced Manager of Therapeutic Services (Occupational Therapist) to lead our interdisciplinary therapeutic services team in a long-term care environment. This leadership role combines clinical Occupational Therapy practice with department management, ensuring residents receive high-quality, resident-centered care that promotes independence, dignity, purpose, and belonging.

Responsibilities

Lead and support a multidisciplinary team including Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, Recreation Therapy, Social Work, Dietetics, Kinesiology, and Therapy Aides.
Provide Occupational Therapy assessments, treatment planning, cognitive assessments, equipment recommendations, and rehabilitation services for long-term care residents.
Develop, implement, and evaluate therapeutic programs that enhance resident quality of life and independence.
Collaborate with residents, families, physicians, and the interdisciplinary care team to achieve optimal resident outcomes.
Oversee departmental operations, staffing, scheduling, performance management, quality improvement initiatives, and regulatory compliance.
Participate in resident care conferences, accreditation activities, and continuous quality improvement projects.

Qualifications

Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy.
Current registration and good standing with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
Several years of continuing care, long-term care, or healthcare experience.
Previous leadership or supervisory experience in a therapeutic services environment.
Experience working with seniors, dementia care, cognitive assessments, and rehabilitation programming.
Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

AADL Authorizer designation.
Functional Independence Measure (FIM) certification.
Experience working in unionized environments.
