The Company

B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland.

Position

Core Cutter, Nunavut

Location and Reporting Structure

Reporting to the Geotechnical Supervisor, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.

Responsibilities

Operate, inspect, and maintain the electric diamond-blade core saw and associated ventilation systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient performance;
Apply and verify sequential numbering systems to maintain accuracy, traceability, and integrity of all core samples;
Execute precise core cutting and sampling activities, adhering to established geological protocols and quality standards;
Document and report completed work to the Supervisor promptly, ensuring clear communication and operational continuity;
Provide hands-on support to geological and geophysical programs by performing assigned tasks safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project objectives;
Actively participate in daily toolbox meetings, demonstrating awareness of and compliance with B2Gold Nunavut’s safety policies, procedures, and operational expectations.
Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area, proactively identifying and mitigating risks such as tripping hazards to uphold a safe working environment.

Desired Competencies and Requirements

Two (2) years’ experience in a core cutting position using an electric diamond blade core saw in a remote camp setting with limited access to resources;
WHIMS Certification and/or Level 1 First Aid considered an asset.
Physically able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs., walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labour.

Compensation and Benefits

For informational purposes, the estimated annual earnings are $94,393.00 for 2184 scheduled hours (combined regular hourly rate of $34.25 and overtime rate of $51.38) in a work year.

B2Gold Nunavut offers a competitive compensation package, including salary commensurate with experience, knowledge, and skills, plus a group benefits package for employees and their dependents.
