This role is for someone who takes pride in their work and wants to be on projects where quality actually matters, whether that's framing a wall true and square or setting finish trim that lands perfectly.
About the role
As a Skilled Carpenter at Datum Homes, you'll work across the full range of residential construction and renovation, from framing and structure through to finish and detail. We put people where their skills are strongest, but we value carpenters who are well-rounded and ready to take on whatever the day calls for. Nobody here is above grabbing a shovel.
You'll be involved in all stages of the build, working closely with project leads and specialized trades to deliver homes that are well built, well finished, and thoughtfully executed.
This is steady, year-round work on high-end projects with a team that values skill, reliability, and pride in the craft.
What you'll be responsible for
- Performing high-quality carpentry across custom homes and renovations, from framing through finish
- Framing walls, floors, and structures accurately and to plan
- Executing finish work including trim, millwork installation, doors, hardware, and custom details
- Taking on broader site work as needed, including site prep, demolition, material handling, and general labour
- Working alongside specialized trades including concrete, cabinetry, glazing, and landscaping
- Reading and interpreting drawings and details to execute work accurately
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and professional job site
- Safely operating tools and equipment with care and precision
- Communicating clearly with project leads and contributing to problem-solving on site

Experience and qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of residential carpentry experience with proven, quality workmanship
- Solid skills across a range of carpentry work, which may include framing, general carpentry, and finish and trim
- Experience in custom home building or high-end renovations is a strong asset
- Comfortable using a wide range of hand and power tools safely
- Valid driver's license is an asset
Pay and hours
- Hourly wage range: $25.00 to $42.00, based on experience and skill level
- Overtime opportunities available immediately
