Full job description

The Calgary JCC welcomes everyone through its doors while also serving as the Jewish “living room” of the community. We offer social, educational, recreational, and cultural programming to individuals and families of all ages and stages. You belong here!

The Paperny Family JCC is currently seeking a reliable, energetic, and team-oriented individual to join our Maintenance Department as a part-time Evening Custodial Attendant. We are looking for someone who is professional, outgoing, and takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our members and guests.

This position primarily involves cleaning and maintaining female locker rooms, universal locker rooms, washrooms, and surrounding facility areas.

Schedule:

Regular weekday shifts: Monday–Friday, 4:00 PM–7:00 PM
Additional relief shifts, primarily on weekends, may also be required

Key Responsibilities:

Clean and sanitize female locker rooms, universal locker rooms, and washrooms to maintain a safe and hygienic environment
Disinfect high-touch surfaces including lockers, benches, sinks, countertops, door handles, and change areas
Clean toilets, showers, mirrors, flooring, and related fixtures according to facility standards
Replenish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and other washroom supplies
Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain locker room and washroom floors
Remove garbage and recycling and maintain waste receptacles
Conduct regular inspections to identify cleanliness, safety, or maintenance concerns
Report plumbing issues, damaged fixtures, or repair needs to the Sr. Director of Facilities
Follow WHMIS regulations and safe handling procedures for cleaning chemicals and equipment
Respond promptly to spills and sanitation concerns
Maintain professionalism, privacy, and respectful customer service while working in locker room areas

Qualifications:

Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
Reliable, punctual, and professional
WHMIS knowledge or certification considered an asset

Pay: $15.00-$16.00 per hour
