Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Prepare ingredients and complete mise en place to ensure a smooth and efficient kitchen operation.
Execute cooking techniques and prepare dishes according to State & Main’s recipes and standards.
Time the steps in each dish and understand the cooking requirements to ensure precise execution and consistency.
Be knowledgeable about menu items, menu changes, and food preparation procedures to guarantee a remarkably consistent guest experience.
Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, including proper storage and handling of food items.
Monitor and manage food quality, presentation, and portion control to ensure consistency and excellence.
Assist with inventory management, including ordering, stocking, and tracking supplies as needed.
Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely and accurate food preparation and service.
Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper sanitation and hygiene practices.
Support the Kitchen Manager and Sous Chefs with daily tasks, including prep work, cooking, and clean-up.

Qualifications:

2+ years of experience as a prep or line cook in a high-volume, upscale restaurant or similar setting is preferred.
Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and kitchen operations.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple tasks while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a focus on contributing to a positive kitchen environment.
Commitment to upholding the highest standards of food safety and quality.
Passion for the culinary arts and a desire to grow within the organization.
