Full job description

Job Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles to transport goods across various routes. This role requires a strong focus on safety, punctuality, and professionalism to ensure timely deliveries and excellent service. Candidates should possess a valid driver’s license and have experience with heavy lifting and driving large vehicles.

Duties

Safely operate trucks to transport goods to designated locations according to schedule
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations
Load and unload cargo, often involving heavy lifting, ensuring proper handling and securement of items
Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and delivery documentation
Follow all traffic laws, safety protocols, and company policies during transportation
Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or issues
Perform routine maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues promptly
Adhere to all safety standards to prevent accidents or injuries during transit

Experience

Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the vehicle type
Proven experience in driving large trucks or commercial vehicles, with a clean driving record
Ability to perform heavy lifting when loading or unloading cargo
Strong knowledge of traffic laws, safety regulations, and best practices for safe driving
Prior experience in logistics or transportation is preferred but not mandatory for highly motivated candidates willing to learn
Excellent navigation skills and familiarity with GPS devices or route planning tools
