Job Summary

The Hotel Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the hotel's facilities, guest rooms, public areas, and equipment to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment for guests and employees. This position performs routine maintenance, repairs, and preventive maintenance on building systems and responds promptly to maintenance requests.

Key Responsibilities

Perform general maintenance and repairs throughout the hotel, including guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house facilities.
Respond promptly to maintenance requests from guests and hotel staff.
Carry out preventive maintenance on hotel equipment and building systems.
Perform basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and HVAC repairs.
Replace light bulbs, repair doors, locks, windows, furniture, and fixtures as needed.
Inspect hotel facilities regularly and report any maintenance or safety concerns.
Maintain the hotel's heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and electrical systems within the scope of the position.
Ensure fire safety equipment and emergency systems are in good working order and report any deficiencies.
Maintain tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies in an organized and safe manner.
Assist with room renovations, furniture assembly, and property improvement projects.
Follow all workplace health and safety procedures and hotel policies.
Keep accurate records of completed maintenance work and report major repairs requiring outside contractors.
Support emergency maintenance needs, including evenings, weekends, or holidays, when required.
Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in hotel, building, or facility maintenance is preferred.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, drywall, painting, and general repairs.
Ability to safely use hand and power tools.
Basic computer skills for completing maintenance logs and work orders are an asset.
Valid driver's license is an asset.

Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced hospitality environment.

Physical Requirements

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (23 kg).
Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods.
Comfortable working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Pay: $19.00-$21.00 per hour
