COMMUNITY SAFETY STRATEGY PROGRAM COORDINATOR

Full Time Permanent

POSITION SUMMARY

The Program Coordinator supports the implementation, coordination, and ongoing evaluation of Community Safety Strategy (CSS) recommendations. This role ensures that CSS priorities move from planning into consistent, measurable action across Member Services and partner departments.

Reporting to the, Director of Member Services, the Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating initiatives, tracking progress, supporting data collection and reporting, and ensuring alignment with CSS priorities. The role also provides targeted administrative support to Member Services managers and teams to enable effective planning and implementation of CSS recommendations.

This position plays a key role in maintaining a proactive, prevention-focused approach to community safety and wellbeing, supporting TFN’s Strategic Plan and growing service needs as more members return to Tsawwassen lands.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

CSS Implementation & Coordination

Coordinate the implementation of CSS priorities and initiatives across Community Services and relevant TFN departments.
Support the development of workplans, timelines, and deliverables aligned with CSS recommendations.
Ensure initiatives are implemented consistently and in alignment with approved priorities and direction.
Identify gaps, overlaps, or emerging needs and communicate these to the Director of Member Services.

Program Tracking & Accountability

Track progress of CSS initiatives, including milestones, deliverables, and outcomes.
Maintain tracking systems to monitor implementation status and ensure accountability across programs.
Provide regular updates to the Director of Member Services on progress, risks, and delays.
Support coordination across departments to ensure alignment and follow-through.

Data Collection, Evaluation & Reporting

Support data collection related to CSS recommendations, including participation, service use, and outcomes.
Maintain organized records and tracking tools to support reporting and evaluation.
Prepare summary reports and updates to support internal planning, leadership review, and funding requirements.
Contribute to ongoing evaluation to ensure programs remain responsive to community needs.

Cross-Department Collaboration

Work collaboratively with Member Services staff and other TFN departments to support integrated service delivery.
Coordinate communication and information sharing between programs to reduce duplication and improve efficiency.
Support alignment of CSS initiatives with broader TFN priorities and strategic objectives.

Administrative Support to Member Services

Provide administrative support to Member Services managers and teams to support planning and implementation of CSS initiatives.
Assist with meeting coordination, including scheduling, agenda preparation, note-taking, and tracking action items.
Support the organization of documents, workplans, and implementation materials.
Assist with internal coordination, follow-ups, and communication related to CSS priorities.
Ensure administrative processes are organized, timely, and aligned with implementation goals.

Program Support & Continuous Improvement

Assist in refining program processes, tools, and workflows to improve coordination and service delivery
Support the development of standardized approaches to implementation, tracking, and reporting
Contribute to a proactive, prevention-focused approach to community safety and wellbeing.
Participate in team meetings, planning sessions, and implementation discussions as required

Scope & Decision-Making

Works under the direction of the Director of Member Services.
Responsible for coordination, tracking, and administrative support related to CSS implementation.
Does not hold direct supervisory authority.
Escalates risks, resource gaps, or implementation challenges to the Director

QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

Diploma or degree in Public Administration, Social Work, Community Development, Public Health, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in program coordination, project support, or community-based service delivery
Experience supporting implementation of strategic initiatives or multi-program coordination
Strong organizational and administrative skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities
Experience with data tracking, reporting, and basic evaluation methods
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively across teams and departments
Understanding of community-based service delivery and prevention-focused approaches
Knowledge of Indigenous governance and community services is an asset
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and shared digital systems
Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check

WORKING CONDITIONS

Office-based role within Community Services, with regular collaboration across departments
Standard hours Monday–Friday, with occasional flexibility required based on project timelines

COMPENSATION

$36.79 to $38.83 per hour. Placement within the pay scale is based on a review of skills, experience and internal equity
Annual cost of living increases
BC Municipal Pension Plan – employee contributes 8.61%, employer contributes 9.31%
