Job Description
This role involves working in a fast-paced production environment, rotating through multiple workstations and operating a variety of machines used to manufacture metal and plastic components. You will perform repetitive tasks with a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and safety while supporting welders and other production staff. The position requires comfort with hand and power tools, consistent counting of parts, and the ability to stay motivated during repetitive work as you contribute to the preparation, assembly, and packaging of products for shipment.
Responsibilities

Rotate daily between different production stations and operate up to 20 machines as required to meet order demands.

Work in both plastic and steel areas of the shop, performing tasks such as deburring steel, moving product, and boxing production for shipment.

Support welders by moving parts to and from welding stations and preparing components for welding and shipment.

Operate welding-related equipment by placing racks in position and using a foot pedal to operate or weld components, repeating processes as needed based on order size.

Perform crimping operations by feeding metal sheets into a machine and using a foot pedal to create bends in the metal, repeating the process as required.

Use a tube cutter machine by setting angles, placing metal pipes on the machine, and using a saw to cut pipes to specification, repeating cuts according to order volume.

Operate a sanding machine to smooth edges of metal tubes on a belt sander, repeating sanding operations as needed.

Move parts from welding stations to designated areas for preparation, packaging, or shipment.

Use power tools and hand tools to clean up machined parts and ensure they meet quality standards.

Move parts and products around the shop floor to ensure they are available at the correct workstations for further processing.

Count products accurately to ensure the correct number of parts are packaged and shipped for each order.

Perform assembly tasks by pulling small plastic pieces off machines and stacking them into boxes for shipment.

Read and follow basic schematics and work orders to complete production tasks accurately.

Participate in general labor duties such as lifting, loading, packaging, cleaning, and supporting the assembly line as needed.

Follow all safety procedures, maintain a clean work area, and contribute to a collaborative and productive team environment.
Required Skills

At least 1 year of experience working in a production or manufacturing environment, ideally with metal, plastic, or woodworking.

Ability to safely and confidently use hand tools and power tools, including drills, table saws, and other production equipment.

Capability to read and follow basic schematics and work orders to complete tasks correctly.

Strong attention to detail with the ability to keep accurate count of parts to ensure correct quantities in each shipment.

Ability to perform repetitive tasks while remaining self-motivated and taking initiative throughout the shift.

Physical ability to lift up to 45 lbs and perform general labor tasks such as loading, moving, and packaging materials.

Comfort working in a production environment with multiple machines, metal and plastic materials, and general labor duties.

Willingness to work as part of a team and support coworkers in a collaborative production setting.
Nice to Have Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience in a manufacturing environment with familiarity in production processes and safety procedures.

Background in construction, woodworking, or the plastics industry.

Forklift experience or certification, or interest in obtaining a forklift ticket.

Experience with general construction, loading, and general production work.

Familiarity with using power tools and hand tools for cutting metal, drilling, and assembly.

Comfort working on an assembly line, packaging products, and performing general cleaning tasks.
