Senior Fiber & 5G Radio & DAS Commercial Installation Technician

About the Job
This position will be responsible for securing the knowledge base to effectively install Fiber Optics Cable (Splicing). In addition, the individual will be required to have knowledge in performing site assessments, evaluation of existing telco systems. Effectively generate CAD drawings as required. Also able to perform RF antenna work.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret design drawings, blueprints, and installation guides.
- Install and secures cables, mount hardware as described in drawings and notes.
- Place, cut, prepare, terminate and secure copper coaxial and optical fiber to their respective connectors, affix splitters based on designs.
- Terminate, test, and troubleshoot cables and antennas.
- Update customer prints, documentation, and facilitate document storage.
- Accurately report status, material usage, and expenses.
- Contribute to creating a professional and safe work environment.
- Supervision of Junior level employees
Qualifications
- At least 5 years of related work experience with in-building DAS, FIber & 5G systems for Public Safety and Enterprise & Cellular solutions.
- Supervisory experience of Junior employees would be considered an asset .
- Installation experience with at least one of the following OEM systems: JMA Wireless, Westell, Andrew) Corning, BTI, ADRF, GST, or Solid in-building.
- Competency / hands-on experience in utilizing Antrisu for signal propagation and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with wireless technologies CDMA, EVDO, GSM, CDMA, UMTS, W-CDMA and LTE/5G.
- Knowledge of passive repeater-based equipment is preferred, General Radiotelephone Operator License (GROL) is a plus.
- Perform infrastructure installation for cable trays, racks, cabinets, etc.
- Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Visio, Word, Excel, and Outlook).
- Ability to install pathways, spaces, bonding, grounding and fire-stopping.
Success in the Role
- Possess manual dexterity to complete fine motor tasks.
- Ability to travel as needed; must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Understand and adhere to NEC, ANSI/TIA, BICSI, and local building codes, standards.
- Ability to work alone, with strong multi-tasking skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Work Environment
- Regular hours are 8:00AM- 5:00 pm, however some flexibility is required (evenings/nights at times required)
- Year-round, hands-on work on rooftop cell sites and towers
- Work outside, at heights or in confined spaces
- Heavy lifting, manual work and proficient use of installation tools
- Work with a team of 3-5 technicians on a range of projects including site build, maintenance, upgrade, and decommission
