General Job Description
Reporting to the department or plant manager, the supervisor is accountable for the performance and results of the Production Control Department as well as being responsible for the direct supervision and training of Leader Technicians and Production Team Members. As a Supervisor at TG MINTO CORPORATION, you are expected to carry out your assigned responsibilities in a professional manner while upholding TG Minto’s vision of treating everyone with honesty, dignity, integrity and respect. These responsibilities are designed to ensure that a high level of production is maintained in a SAFE and economical way. Your effective use of manpower and equipment has a direct bearing on the cost of production and therefore the final price of our products. This can, and does, affect our position in the marketplace where we sell our products.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Directs the activities of the Production Control / shipping department. Operates from a wide scope of responsibility to maintain production schedules and to ensure safety and quality standards are adhered to by the group. Other duties may be assigned.
- Audit all Production Control (PC) to ensure compliance to standard picking procedure
- Investigate and report on all shipping/receiving concerns and other issues in the department (conduct root cause analysis or 5 why and take corrective action as needed)
- Maintain sort/wrap order packing process speeds and accuracy
- Understand picking process to support order picking requirements
- Basic PA Office duties as determined and assigned for the Stratford Facility (SSR’s, Cycle Counts, Basic Inventory Control, production data entry)
- Monitor and report issues including but not limited to: incident reports for all issues within the department. (dock door issues, equipment accidents, team member medical conditions, health and safety, accidents involving quality of our product)
- Direct Leader Technicians within the team, and work closely with the PC Leader Technicians to monitor, maintain PC-PTM production
- Contribute to the development of the shipping/receiving area and participate in continuous improvement process
- Ensure that all pertinent documentation is completed accurately and on time.
- Perform routine inspections and assessments of any equipment assigned to your department
- Lead and maintain 5S / 2S1Y conditions and complete weekly audits to monitor condition of department. Work in a safe manner and maintain 5S
- Administer company policies for department
- Lead start of shift meetings daily
- Motivate employees and assist in the resolution of conflict. Coach and counsel team members on various aspects of their duties
- Plan and assign work and train new employees. Ensure standardized training on all shifts. Work with the On-Job-Trainer as required to ensure appropriate training of the team
- Evaluate employees’ performance and share feedback with management and concerned employees as needed. Maintain Team Member attendance and performance records
- Issue corrective actions (discipline) for employees as appropriate
- Monitor and control overtime to meet budget requirements
- Communicate with all levels of management, including Japanese staff. Build strong and productive working relationships with other internal departments and management
- Assist Manager as necessary to accomplish all goals and missions of the department
- TG Minto may amend the reporting structure and/or duties and responsibilities as business needs require
Supervisory Responsibility
You are responsible for providing a SAFE workplace for your team members. It is your responsibility to know and understand the regulations that directly relate to your assigned responsibilities. As a Supervisor you are the direct link between upper management and the team members. You must also ensure that your team members know and understand the regulations that directly relate to their assigned duties and the workplace.
Directly supervise employees in the Production Control Department. Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and recommending corrective action for employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Keep the Production Control manager informed of all activities within your department/shift. You may be required to change shifts in order to accommodate production requirements.

Education and/or Experience
Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two year college or technical school; or six months to one year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Mathematical Skills
