McCarty Squared Inc. is a women-owned, design-forward construction and contracting firm with our main studio located in London, Ontario. We specialize in high-detail residential renovations, historical restorations, custom builds, and accessibility modifications. We provide our clients with a turnkey, consultative experience—meaning we manage projects comprehensively from initial concept and permitting through to final walkthrough.
ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented Project Manager to join our growing team. Based out of our London studio, you will lead our physical workforce across job sites in London and surrounding areas. This includes managing our in-house lead carpenters and labourers alongside our network of master-level subcontractors. You will act as the crucial link between our design team and the field to ensure our high-detail projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to our uncompromising quality standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Project Management & Administration
- Utilize Houzz Pro daily to update project schedules, track milestones, log daily site photos, and manage client communications.
- Maintain accurate digital records, change orders, and progress tracking within our management platform.
- Track project costs and assist with financial reporting using QuickBooks integration to ensure jobs stay on budget.
Team Leadership & Field Management
- Direct, schedule, and mentor in-house lead carpenters and labourers to maximize daily site productivity across various regional job sites.
- Foster a positive, collaborative, and safe culture among the internal site crew and external trades.
- Conduct regular on-site safety meetings and ensure strict compliance with Ontario health and safety regulations.
- Assign clear daily tasks to staff and review completed work for precision and craftsmanship.
On-Site Project Execution & Studio Collaboration
- Lead day-to-day on-site operations, ensuring a clean, organized, and secure work environment.
- Collaborate closely with the design team at our London studio to review blueprints and material selections.
- Manage and schedule our retained team of licensed, master-level subcontractors.
- Enforce strict quality control standards at every phase of the build process.
Pre-Construction & Planning
- Review project scopes, Class A/C estimates, and design plans to ensure constructability before work begins.
- Coordinate with our in-house designer to verify site dimensions and ensure finish selections are accurately ordered.
- Assist with municipal permit applications, ESA/TSSA requirements, and necessary site paperwork.
Client Relations & Communication
- Act as the primary point of contact for homeowners, providing regular, transparent updates on project milestones.
- Manage change orders smoothly and clearly, ensuring clients understand the timeline and budget impacts.
- Ensure a concierge-level, consultative experience from concept to completion.
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Experience: Experience in construction project management or residential renovations is preferred. Direct experience managing in-house carpentry crews and field labourers is highly valued.
- Software Skills: Hands-on experience or strong working knowledge of Houzz Pro and QuickBooks (or similar construction management and accounting software ecosystems).
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of Ontario Building Code (OBC), residential construction methods, and the permitting process.
- Leadership: Strong people management skills with a proven ability to motivate field staff, resolve site conflicts, and maintain high team morale.
- Travel & Licensing: Must possess a valid Ontario driver’s license with a clean, good-standing driving record for daily travel to various project sites.
- Background Check: Must be willing to successfully complete a standard background check.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to easily translate construction terms for clients.

- Salary: $65,000 to $85,000 per year, dependent on experience and qualifications.
