Role Overview
The Translator – Workday Program provides high-quality translation services for HR-related and Workday program content across functional areas. The role ensures accurate, timely, and culturally appropriate translations from English into French (Canadian and International/French France), while complying with company standards and Quebec’s Bill 96 requirements.
The Translator ensures linguistic consistency, terminological accuracy, and alignment with HR, legal, technical, and corporate communication standards.
Key ResponsibilitiesTranslation & Localization
- Translate written and recorded content from English to French (Canadian and International variants)
- Convert HR/Workday-related materials while preserving original meaning, tone, and intent
- Adapt content so it reads naturally in the target language (not as a literal translation)
- Ensure correct rendering of legal, technical, HR, and business terminology
- Maintain compliance with Bill 96 (Québec language requirements)
Quality Assurance
- Review, revise, and proofread translated content for accuracy and consistency
- Ensure proper grammar, syntax, punctuation, spelling, and diacritical marks
- Conduct Quality Assessments (QA) of translations when required
- Ensure adherence to client style guides and terminology databases
Research & Terminology Management
- Research subject matter using online sources or SME consultation
- Ensure consistent use of domain-specific terminology (HR, legal, finance, etc.)
- Maintain lexical cohesion and terminology accuracy across documents
Content & Format Handling
- Translate and format a variety of content types:
- Documents
- Training materials
- Job aids
- Videos/scripts
- Format high-volume content using MS Office Suite and translation tools
- Ensure proper layout and formatting alignment with source documents
Interpretation & Support (as needed)
- Provide consecutive interpretation (English ↔ French) when required
- Collaborate with HR/Employee Experience Advisors and Program stakeholders
Compliance & Communication
- Raise queries when meaning or context is unclear
- Meet strict deadlines and manage multiple priorities
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive HR and company information
- Follow ethical, safety, and employment standards
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Translation, Linguistics, English/French, or related field
- 3–5 years of professional translation experience (English → French)
- Translation certification preferred
- Strong command of English and French grammar, stylistics, and orthography
- Experience translating HR, legal, technical, or corporate content
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong knowledge of translation tools (CAT tools, machine translation platforms)
- Experience with localization workflows and terminology management
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft automation skills (preferred/plus)

Additional Requirements
- Flexibility to work across time zones (supervisor based in Mongolia)
- Ability to work in a hybrid model (preferred: 3+ days/week in Montreal office)
- Strong preference for candidates based in or able to commute to Montreal
