Overview
We're looking for one driven B2B salesperson to own a full sales cycle from first contact to signed contract. This is a hunting role — a large part of your week is proactive outbound: cold calling, cold email, and digging out new prospects through your own research. But you'll also have a strong flow of warm inbound leads to convert, so it's not all cold from a standing start. The warm leads close if you work them; the real growth comes from the new business you go out and win. If you're energized by building pipeline rather than waiting for it to arrive, this is built for you.
The product is exhibit space and sponsorship for the West Coast Women's Show — an established consumer show at TRADEX in Abbotsford, BC — and West Coast Family Show running alongside it. Most of your prospects are small, owner-run businesses, so the sale is consultative — you're helping them understand the show's audience and find a package that works for them, not reading a script. Events experience is a plus, not a requirement; we care far more that you can sell, follow through, and stay organized.
Responsibilities
- Prospect and win net-new business through outbound — cold calls, cold email, and your own lead research
- Convert warm inbound enquiries and incoming calls into booked clients
- Make 40–50 outbound calls per day to current and prospective clients
- Re-sign returning clients and win back lapsed ones
- Continuously source new leads from media, the internet, competitor shows, and industry associations
- Use audience and demographic data to show exhibitors how the show reaches their customers
- Sell sponsorship, advertising, and add-on opportunities
- Document every sales conversation in the CRM in full detail, and keep the database current — for a remote role, your pipeline is how we both see what's working
- Carry deals through to signed contract and payment, and make collection calls as needed
Qualifications
- A track record in B2B sales, inside sales, or business development — events/media/sponsorship a plus
- A genuine hunter: comfortable spending a large part of your week on cold outreach and prospecting, not just working warm leads
- Someone who can handle volume and follow through without dropping anyone
- Strong CRM discipline and detailed record-keeping
- Excellent communication and a consultative approach — you can read a small-business owner and help them make a confident decision
- Self-motivated and reliable working independently
- Able to work Pacific business hours
Compensation
This is an independent contractor role for someone who backs themselves. You'll receive a $4,000/month draw against commission, paid year-round, so your income doesn't switch off between campaigns — plus commission on every deal you close and milestone bonuses as sales grow.
On-target earnings are around $73K, and it's uncapped — a strong year past target can reach $90K+, with no ceiling above that.
We'll be upfront: this is commission-based contractor work, not a salaried job with benefits. We've built the draw and bonuses to genuinely reward the person who produces. We'll walk you through the actual numbers — and the show's track record — in the interview.
The practical bits
The role is fully remote. Once a year you'll attend the show in person at TRADEX in Abbotsford, BC — the show runs November 20–22, plus setup and teardown either side (roughly 4–5 days total).
Pay: $48,000.00-$90,000.00 per year
Benefits:
- Flexible schedule
- Work from home
Application question(s):
- What have you sold, to whom, and what was your average deal size?
- You'll be working a high volume of leads and outbound activity at once. How do you keep your pipeline organized so nothing slips? What CRM(s) have you used?
- Tell us about a deal you recovered — a prospect who said no or went quiet, and you brought back. What did you do?
- How do you approach the first call with a small-business owner who's unsure whether they can afford what you're selling?
- This is a contractor role with a draw against commission, not a salaried job with benefits. How do you feel about that structure, and what's worked for you before?
