Reporting to Axiom’s Senior Management and Project Geologists, you will provide frontline field support for exploration programs, including core logging, sampling, geotechnical measurements, and general field technician duties. These roles are essential to the successful execution of our drilling and geological programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Core Logging & Geological Data Collection
Perform lithological, structural, alteration, and geotechnical logging of drill core.
Mark, measure, photograph, and prepare core for sampling.
Record daily drill data, maintain accurate logs, and ensure data integrity.
Monitor drill operations through routine drill site visits.
Create and maintain core records, sample tags, interpretive sections, and related documentation.
Geotechnical & Field Technician Duties
Move, lift, stack, and organize core boxes; physically handle materials up to 50 lbs.
Assist with prospecting, soil and rock sampling, mapping, and other surface exploration tasks.
Flag drill trails, grid lines, and field control points.
Provide daily field support to project geologists and ensure on-site QA/QC procedures are followed.
Project & Team Support
Communicate daily status updates to project leads and clients.
Support junior staff with basic technical protocols.
Integrate geological, geochemical, and geotechnical information for program tracking.
Participate in daily safety meetings and follow all health and safety protocols.
Requirements
Education & Experience
Core Logging Geologists: B.Sc. in Geology or Earth Sciences.
Geological Technicians: High school diploma preferred; relevant field experience an asset.
Junior: 0–3 years experience
Intermediate: 3–5 years experience
Technical Skills
Familiarity with basic lithology, alteration, and structural identification.
Experience with QGIS, ArcGIS, MXDeposit, Leapfrog, or similar software is an asset.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
Previous drill project experience (core logging or core handling) is an asset.
Field & Physical Requirements
Ability to work in remote field camps under varying weather conditions.
Ability to lift, carry, and push up to 50 lbs.
Ability to hike up to 10 km in rugged terrain.
Valid driver’s licence and clean driving record.
Current First Aid certification (valid for project duration).

Ability to work 11-hour days on rotation.
