IT Support Specialist
Based out of our Brantford Ontario location and Reporting to the IT Manager/Director of Technology, the IT Support Specialist will be the first point of contact for all technology-related issues across the organization, providing hands-on support, maintaining systems, and contributing to IT infrastructure projects.
Upon joining, the selected candidate will undergo comprehensive training on Angstrom’s proprietary software platforms and the ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) application used across the group companies.

What does an IT Support Specialist do?
- Provide first- and second-level technical support to end users.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues in a timely and professional manner
- Support, maintain, and assist users with the software applications including ERPs running across Angstrom’s environment following completion of internal training
- Serve as a liaison between end users and the ERP/software vendor for issue escalation and resolution
- Document ERP and proprietary software processes; create user guides and knowledge base articles
- Set up, configure, and maintain desktop/laptop computers, printers, and peripherals
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls using Active Directory and Microsoft 365
- Install, update, and manage software applications and operating systems
- Monitor and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, and firewalls
- Assist with data backup, recovery, and cybersecurity best practices
- Support onboarding/offboarding of employees, including ERP access provisioning
- Collaborate with vendors, third-party service providers, and internal stakeholders
- Contribute to IT projects such as system upgrades, ERP module rollouts, and migrations
- May be assigned to other IT related tasks as needed
What you bring to the table
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related field
- 1–2 years of experience in an IT support, helpdesk, or systems administration role
- Good understanding of Windows OS environments (Windows 10/11, Windows Server)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive)
- Familiarity with Active Directory, user account management, and Group Policy
- Eagerness and ability to learn new software platforms quickly, including ERP systems
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills
Preferred (Nice to Have)
- Prior exposure to any ERP platform (e.g., Plex, SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, or similar) not mandatory, full training provided
- Industry certifications: CompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft MD-102, or equivalent
- Experience with IT ticketing/helpdesk systems (e.g., Freshdesk, Zendesk, ServiceNow, Jira)
- Exposure to cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud)
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and endpoint protection tools
Work Eligibility
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
Salary Range:
- $50,000 - $65,000 (Salary is dependent on experience)
Note:
- This position is based “on-site” in Brantford, Ontario at Angstrom's facility.
- This position may require occasional travel to other Angstrom Group facilities.
Previous experience is required, but we are open to individuals with previous transferable skills such as: IT, Information Technology, IT Ticketing, IT Support, IT Helpdesk, ERP, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Administration, etc…
Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
