We are looking for individuals passionate about supporting clients and their families through moderate to severe mental health and addictions treatment streams. Reporting to the Care Manager, Youth Specialized Services, or designate, this position will provide one-to-one and group support to clients and families of mental health and addiction services, according to the client’s individual service plan and/or treatment plan. Using a client-centered approach, service will be provided in a variety of community settings, providing support and assistance to promote higher functioning, including social, physical, and emotional well-being, while fostering self-determination and independence. You will demonstrate the ability to take initiative, work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team, and have exemplary communication and conflict resolution skills. As a Mental Health Aide, you will work as a collaborative member of the multidisciplinary team to provide a welcoming and safe care environment. You will assist in the provision of direct patient/client care as delegated in a person-centered, recovery oriented and safe manner. In this position, you will assist and / or promote independence to patients/clients in completing activities of daily living as well as assisting other health professionals with providing treatments and observing and reporting relevant patient/client information to professional staff. You will assist new patients/clients and families with orientation, and assist in the general support of the work area.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of Grade 12. A combination of education and experience satisfactory to the employer will also be considered.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Two years’ experience, within the last four years, with the Child and Youth Population. A criminal record chek with a vulnerable sector check. BLS (Heart & Stroke Basick Life Support).
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in non-violent crisis intervention is an asset. Mental Health First Aid is considered an asset.
