About A-Kan

We are a growing insurance brokerage committed to providing exceptional service to our clients while supporting our team with a collaborative and professional work environment. We are currently looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounting Administrator to join our team.

Position Summary

The Accounting Administrator will be responsible for managing the brokerage's day-to-day accounting and administrative functions.

Key Responsibilities

Process daily insurance transactions, including payments, refunds, and policy financing.
Reconcile client accounts
Prepare and issue invoices, receipts, and payment confirmations.
Monitor outstanding balances and follow up on overdue accounts.
Assist with month-end and year-end accounting procedures.
Maintain accurate accounting records and financial documentation.
Coordinate with insurance companies regarding billing, commissions, and payment discrepancies.
Support brokers with payment-related inquiries and accounting requests.
Assist with administrative tasks and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Diploma or certificate in Accounting, Bookkeeping, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred.
Minimum 1–2 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience (insurance brokerage experience is considered an asset).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office applications.
Strong numerical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
