The Leo Seafood & Chop House — Downtown Markham

About The Leo

The Leo is a new seafood and chop house in Downtown Markham, offering a refined dining experience built around premium steaks, exceptional seafood, handcrafted cocktails, and genuine hospitality.

We are looking for experienced, energetic Bartenders to join our opening team. This is an opportunity to help build a bar program from the ground up while delivering memorable guest experiences in a fast-paced, upscale environment.

The Role

As a Bartender, you will be responsible for crafting exceptional cocktails, providing knowledgeable beverage service, and creating a welcoming atmosphere for every guest. You'll work closely with both the front-of-house and culinary teams to deliver an elevated dining experience that reflects The Leo's commitment to quality and hospitality.

The ideal candidate is personable, organized, efficient, and passionate about cocktails, wine, spirits, and guest service.

Responsibilities

Prepare and serve classic and signature cocktails with consistency and precision
Provide knowledgeable recommendations on cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits
Deliver warm, attentive, and professional guest service
Maintain an organized, clean, and fully stocked bar throughout service
Prepare fresh syrups, juices, garnishes, and cocktail ingredients
Accurately process orders and payments through the POS system
Monitor responsible alcohol service and follow all Smart Serve regulations
Assist with inventory counts, ordering, and stock rotation
Work collaboratively with servers, hosts, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless service
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, organization, and sanitation
Contribute to a positive, professional team culture

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of bartending experience in an upscale restaurant, cocktail bar, or fine-dining environment
Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits, wine, beer, and modern cocktail techniques
Smart Serve Certification (required)
Excellent communication and hospitality skills
Ability to multitask and remain composed in a high-volume environment
Strong attention to detail and consistency
Positive attitude and team-first mentality
Evening, weekend, and holiday availability required
Previous opening restaurant experience is considered an asset
