Summary:
To support and optimize our network of transportation partners, we are seeking a Carrier & Partner Management Manager. This role is critical in ensuring we maintain a high-performing, cost-effective, and reliable carrier base to support our growing operations.
You will be responsible for building strong carrier relationships, driving sourcing strategies, and improving network performance through data-driven insights and disciplined execution. This is a commercially focused role with direct impact on transportation cost, service performance, and capacity reliability.
What You’ll Do
Carrier Strategy & Sourcing
Source, onboard, and develop carrier partnerships to support network growth and evolving capacity needs
Lead rate negotiations, contracts, and service agreements to ensure competitive pricing and cost optimization
Support and execute carrier sourcing strategies aligned with business and operational priorities
Carrier Performance & Network Optimization
Manage relationships with carriers and transportation partners to ensure service reliability and performance
Monitor carrier performance using metrics such as on-time delivery, cost, service quality, and capacity utilization
Identify underperforming carriers and implement corrective actions or replacement strategies
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen carrier performance and network efficiency
Collaboration & Commercial Alignment
Collaborate with Operations, Pricing, Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain teams to align carrier strategy with business needs
Support capacity planning and respond to fluctuations in demand, seasonality, and market conditions
Contribute to transportation budgets, forecasts, and cost reporting with a focus on cost control and optimization
Compliance & Market Intelligence
Ensure carriers meet Canadian regulatory requirements, including safety standards, insurance, and federal/provincial regulations
Leverage knowledge of market trends (capacity, fuel, lane pricing) to inform sourcing and negotiation strategies
What You Bring
5+ years of experience in transportation sourcing, carrier procurement, or logistics within Canada
Proven track record of negotiating trucking rates and managing carrier relationships
Strong understanding of Canadian transportation markets, lane pricing, and capacity dynamics
Advanced Excel skills for rate analysis, lane costing, and supplier benchmarking
Experience working with TMS or ERP systems
Strong negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Commercial mindset with a focus on cost savings, performance, and network optimization
Nice to Have
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or a related field
SCMP / SCMA or similar designation
Knowledge of:
Canadian trucking capacity trends
Fuel surcharge structures
Regional lane pricing and seasonality
Requirements:
Post‑secondary education in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or a related field
3–6 years of experience in transportation sourcing, carrier procurement, or logistics within Canada
Proven experience negotiating domestic trucking rates and managing carrier relationships
Strong understanding of Canadian transportation markets and lane‑based pricing
Solid Excel skills for rate analysis, lane costing, and supplier comparisons
Experience with TMS or ERP systems is an asset
Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship‑building skills
Detail‑oriented, well‑organized, and able to manage multiple sourcing initiatives
Commercially minded and cost‑focused
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
Preferred:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, or related discipline
4+ years of experience in Canadian transportation sourcing or logistics procurement
Professional designation (SCMP, PMAC/SCMA) considered an asset
Knowledge of:
Canadian trucking capacity trends
Fuel surcharge mechanisms
Regional lane pricing and seasonality
Salary Range: $95,029 - $118,786
This salary range is presented in compliance with applicable pay transparency laws and reflects the range we reasonably expect to pay for this role at the time of posting. Individual compensation is determined based on relevant experience, education, skills, and alignment with internal compensation practices.
