Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Educational Assistants (EAs) assist teachers with many instructional and non-instructional tasks in the classroom and with other school activities. EAs work as members of the school and student support team. EAs either work with a particular special needs student or a group of students within a class or in a special program. EAs may provide personal care and additional assistance for students depending on their particular needs.
Duties will include:
- working with students individually or in small groups
- working with students with disabilities
lifts, transfers, and personal care of students may be required

Education/Experience:
- Requirement: High School Diploma
- Candidates having the following qualifications would be considered an asset:
- training or experience working with students with disabilities
- behaviour management training
- courses related to working with students with special needs
excellent interpersonal skills

- the ability to work with students under the direct supervision of the classroom teacher
- the ability to provide personal care for students
- Emergency First Aid and CPR
- Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Training
- Educational Assistant Certificate or comparable education
