We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Landscape & Facilities Maintenance Lead to oversee facility upkeep and landscape projects across our properties. This is a hands-on, year-round position suited for an individual with strong technical expertise, leadership capability, and a proactive approach. The successful candidate will lead a small crew, work independently, and maintain a high standard of workmanship, organization, and site cleanliness.
Seasonal Responsibilities
Spring, Summer, Fall – Landscape Construction & Facility Maintenance
- Lead and actively participate in landscape construction projects, including patios, walkways, retaining walls, grading, and planting
- Oversee seasonal property maintenance activities such as mowing, trimming, pruning, edging, and general grounds upkeep
- Assign tasks and supervise the work of 1–2 team members, ensuring quality, efficiency, and adherence to standards
- Operate and transport equipment, including trucks with trailers, skid steers, mini excavators, and related machinery
- Maintain work sites, tools, and equipment in a clean, organized, and safe condition
- Identify maintenance requirements and complete repairs with minimal supervision
- Ensure all work is completed with a high level of accuracy, care, and attention to detail
- Perform maintenance and upkeep of employee housing (including TFW accommodations), ensuring cleanliness, safety, and compliance with company and regulatory standards
Winter – Snow Removal & Shop Work
- Manage snow clearing operations for facilities, including laneways, entrances, and walkways
- Coordinate snow response activities and ensure equipment readiness in collaboration with the Maintenance Manager
- Assist with facility and greenhouse projects, including:
- Carpentry (framing, shelving, and minor repairs)
- Welding and fabrication
- Painting and refinishing
- General repairs and infrastructure improvements
Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience in landscape construction, property/facility maintenance, and team leadership (typically 5+ years)
- Carpentry skills and general construction experience are required
- Welding, painting, or fabrication experience is considered an asset
- Experience operating and transporting equipment (truck and trailer, skid steer, mini excavator, etc.)
- Self-motivated and solution-oriented, with the ability to manage projects from start to finish with minimal supervision
- Highly organized, with a strong commitment to maintaining clean and orderly work environments
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
- Valid G-class driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record is required (to meet company insurance requirements)
- Mechanically inclined, with the ability to perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
Working Conditions
- Combination of shop, greenhouse, warehouse, outdoor, and off-site work environments
- Regular travel between company facilities and external locations
- Fast-paced environment with multiple competing priorities
Hours of Work
- Monday to Friday: 7:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Alternate Saturdays and holidays: 7:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Flexibility in scheduling may be required based on operational and seasonal needs
