We are seeking an experienced, organized, and patient-focused Dental Receptionist / Patient Care Coordinator to join our growing dental team.
This position is ideal for an individual who enjoys building relationships with patients, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and understands the importance of outstanding customer service and efficient dental office operations.
As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a critical role in creating an exceptional patient experience while supporting the daily administrative functions of our practice.
Responsibilities
· Welcome patients with professionalism and warmth
· Schedule, confirm, and coordinate patient appointments
· Manage recalls, reactivation, and treatment bookings
· Answer and direct incoming calls using a multi-line phone system
· Verify insurance eligibility and submit electronic dental claims
· Review insurance estimates and assist patients with financial arrangements
· Present treatment plans and discuss recommended treatment with patients
· Process patient payments and maintain accurate account records
· Maintain electronic patient records and documentation
· Manage patient communications via phone, email, and text
· Assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures
· Coordinate patient flow with clinical team members
· Follow up on outstanding treatment and unscheduled treatment plans
· Assist with administrative projects and office growth initiatives
· Maintain a clean, professional, and organized reception area
Qualifications & Experience - Required
· Minimum 2 years of dental reception or dental administration experience
· Previous experience working in a dental office is mandatory
· Strong understanding of dental terminology
· Experience processing and reviewing electronic dental claims
· Knowledge of dental insurance procedures and coordination of benefits
· Strong customer service and communication skills
· Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities
· Professional appearance and positive attitude
· Reliable attendance and punctuality
Qualifications & Experience - Preferred
· Experience with Dentrix, Tracker, Abeldent, Cleardent, or similar dental software
· Experience presenting treatment plans and discussing financial arrangements
· Experience with patient retention and recall systems
· Familiarity with CDCP and the Ontario Dental Association Fee Guide
