Full job description

Overview
Reporting to the Marketing Manager, theMarketing Assistant, is an integral part of the ALCO Energy Solutions team. The Marketing Assistant is a hands-on role for a creative, organized, and collaborative professional who can effectively manage multiple projects while supporting a broad range of marketing initiatives and corporate communications activities.

This is a 6 to 8 month term with the potential of becoming a permanent position.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with internal departments to coordinate and execute marketing initiatives in alignment with company objectives, brand guidelines, and approved budgets.
Plan, coordinate, and execute marketing and corporate events, including industry tradeshows, sponsorships, town halls, and internal events. Managing end-to-end logistics such as vendor sourcing, SWAG procurement, scheduling, materials coordination, and pre- and post-event activities.
Support internal and external communications, including the ALCO Insider newsletter, corporate announcements, promotional campaigns, and other communications initiatives.
Support proposal development, market research, data gathering, business development initiatives, corporate branding, SWAG distribution, inventory tracking, and other ad hoc marketing activities.
Manage website and social media communication channels by monitoring inboxes, responding to routine inquiries, and routing requests to appropriate internal stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.
Support the management of company social media platforms, website updates, and digital marketing campaigns.
Assist with content coordination, including photography support, scheduling, content calendar management, and ensuring consistency of brand messaging across all channels.
Contribute to monthly and annual marketing performance reporting by tracking and consolidating key metrics, including campaign performance, social media engagement, and website analytics.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

Diploma or degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
Minimum 2 years of related experience, preferably in a B2B, industrial, or professional services environment.
Strong ability to plan, prioritize, and manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
Highly organized with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills with the ability to engage effectively with internal stakeholders.
Positive, team-oriented mindset with strong collaboration and relationship-building skills.
Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a team environment.
Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) or similar design tools is considered an asset.
Familiarity with social media management tools (e.g., Buffer), CMS platforms, and analytics tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, Google Business Profile, and WordPress is considered an asset.
Adaptable and able to work effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Physical Requirements

Ability to perform job duties that may require sitting, standing and walking for extended periods.
Ability to perform repetitive tasks, including keyboarding, data entry and document handling.
Ability to bend, crouch, kneel, reach and stretch as required to perform job duties.
Ability to lift, carry, push or pull items 30lbs in accordance with safe work practices.
Ability to work in various environments (office, site, warehouse, etc.,) as required by the role.
Ability to operate standard office equipment or role-specific tools safely.
Ability to work regular work hours and occasional overtime, as required.
