Job Description
This role focuses on servicing rotating equipment and related oilfield equipment, including double gates, annulars, spools, tongs, elevators, and cylinders. You will disassemble and assemble complex mechanical systems, perform detailed inspections and measurements, and carry out various testing procedures to ensure equipment safety and reliability. Over time, you will rotate across different equipment and tasks to broaden your technical knowledge and experience.
Responsibilities

Service BOP stacks and related equipment such as double gates, annulars, spools, tongs, elevators, and cylinders.

Disassemble and assemble industrial equipment and units in a safe and efficient manner.

Perform inspections and complete dimensional reports to verify equipment condition and compliance with specifications.

Troubleshoot mechanical and hydraulic issues and implement effective corrective actions.

Conduct pressure testing, load testing, and pull testing to validate equipment performance and safety.

Coordinate repairs and fixes with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate completion of work.

Read and interpret blueprints and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID) to guide assembly, disassembly, and repair activities.

Use measuring tools such as vernier calipers, calipers, and tape measures to verify dimensions and tolerances.

Complete inspection reporting accurately and maintain clear documentation of work performed.

Operate and work with hydraulic test benches and related testing equipment.

Use overhead cranes and sit-down forklifts to safely move and position equipment and components.

Follow established safety protocols and procedures at all times to maintain a safe work environment.

Rotate to work on different types of equipment over time to expand technical skills and knowledge.
Additional Skills & Qualifications

Journeyman Millwright certification is highly regarded.

Experience in the oilfield or mobile oilfield equipment sector is an asset.

Comfort working with a variety of industrial equipment and rotating across different tasks to build broader expertise.

Strong attention to detail when measuring, inspecting, and documenting equipment condition.

Ability to collaborate effectively with internal departments to coordinate repairs and testing.

Willingness to work either day or afternoon shifts as required by operational needs.

Work Environment
The role is based in a shop environment in southeast Calgary, with a workforce of approximately 50 trades professionals and plans for significant expansion in 2026. You will work with industrial equipment such as BOP stacks, valves, pumps, hydraulic test benches, overhead cranes, and sit-down forklifts in a hands-on, mechanically focused setting. The day shift runs Monday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with overtime eligibility after 8 hours in any day. The afternoon shift runs Monday to Thursday from 2:30 p.m. to 1:00 a.m., with overtime eligibility after 10 hours in any day and a shift premium for afternoons. The environment emphasizes adherence to safety protocols, proper use of lifting and measuring tools, and consistent, high-quality workmanship.
