Full job description

Opportunity: Class 1 Operator

Schedule: 4 x 10+ / 6 & 1 / 11 & 3 / 10 or 12 hour shifts / days & nights

Job Location: Syncrude Logistics

Opportunity Description:

Primary Responsibilities:

Ensure compliance with safety legislation and National Safety Code (NSC) requirements
Follow corporate safety program and maintenance program
Pre/ post trip inspections
Complete daily log/time records as required
Full knowledgeable of company’s safety and maintenance program
Conducts/and documents thorough trip inspections
Immediately report any defect with the equipment
Cleans equipment as required
Works together with the on-site Safety Advisor to ensure compliance with company and client HSE policies
General operational duties required to ensure smooth operation of business unit. (ie: transportation of freight, units or equipment)
Ensure material is secured to the trailer using tie down straps or chains
Make sure the vehicle is fueled and cleaned at the end of shift
Expediting material and parts around and between the sites
Perform light maintenance when necessary (greasing, changing lights, tire pressure)

Job Requirements:

Must send a copy of your 5 year commercial driver’s abstract with your resume. Your abstract must meet our insurance requirements.

Qualifications:

Valid Class 1 Driver’s License with a clean 5 year commercial driver’s abstract
Must have Common Safety Orientation (CSO)
A minimum of 5 years’ experience operating large commercial vehicles;
Syncrude Site experience as a driver is considered an asset
Self-motivated, reliable, flexible, and proactive with an ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Demonstrated history of safety excellence
Ticketed Forklift or Skid steer operator
Load securement course would be considered an asset
Cargo & Load Securement - Required
Weights & Dimensions - Required
Pre Trip Inspections - Required
Hours of Service - Required
