Program Instructor – Pre-school

The Town of Bradford West Gwillimbury is looking for dynamic, highly motivated and energetic individuals to join the growing Leisure Services division to directly oversee the pre-school programs at the Leisure Centre. Reporting to the Recreation Programmer, the Program Instructor – Pre-school provides direct program leadership, supervision and instruction for participants.

Duties & Responsibilities

Maintains controlled entry access and provides a program that will ensure a safe and welcoming environment for all participants.
Develops a creative and effective program plan for each class/session.
Monitor and supervise participants engaged in the program.
Responsible for all aspects of the program including planning, supervision, setup/cleanup, safety and implementation;
Completes accident/ incident reporting and program statistics.
Completes a program review at the end of the session with participants.
Responds to enquiries from and/or liaises with the general public, parents, family users and/or other staff regarding recreational services, registration procedures, program content and materials and/or other related matters.
Coordinates all programming needs with immediate supervisor.

Key Competencies and Qualifications

Possesses a high school diploma with preference given to those with post-secondary diploma in Early Childhood Education, Child & Youth Studies or equivalent.
Possess Standard First Aid, and CPR Level C certification.
High Five certification is considered an asset.
Two years related experience working with pre-school age children.
Candidates must be able to promote a culture of inclusiveness and work with a diverse population of employees, participants, agencies and the public.
Effective problem solving skills and conflict management skills are also required.
Ability to provide a satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Screening upon hire.
Candidates must be available to work weekday daytime hours and Monday evenings as part of a regular schedule.

This position offers an hourly rate of $19.47 to $23.67 (2026 rates).
