Established in 1974, Norcan is a complete hydraulic service and sales company with 8 branches throughout Western Canada. We service customers in a variety of industries: Marine, Forestry, Mining, Material Handling, Original Equipment Manufacturing, Agriculture, and Production facilities. We are in a growing industry with a diverse set of skills and abilities that are critical in the operation of industrial and mobile equipment throughout the country. Norcan is the Western Canada distributor for Bosch Rexroth.

We are currently adding to our team in Red Deer, if you are a team player who thrives in a busy “get it done” environment then we want to speak to you about this opportunity.

The Jr. Technician/Shop Hand is focused on providing a broad range of assistance to the more senior mechanic staff in the Red Deer Branch and will learn the hydraulics specialty from the ground up with a large variety of mechanical challenges and opportunities.

Primary Responsibilities:

Shop Helper

Perform various mechanical tasks in the shop including working on hydraulic valves, motors and cylinders under the guidance of the more senior mechanics
Keep shop and yard tidy and organized
Pickup and delivery of parts as required
Weight handling up to 50lbs (23kg)

Qualifications and Experience:

Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, previous work in an industrial mechanical environment is an asset
Valid Class 5 drivers license

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Organized with an ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
Detail-oriented, with an ability to work both quickly and accurately
Excellent communication skills

Working Conditions Office environment attached to an industrial Service Shop facility.
