We are currently seeking a skilled Fabricator / Shop Welder to join our team.

Job Overview

As a Fabricator / Shop Welder at Ward Welding Services Inc., you will be responsible for fabricating, fitting, and welding custom metal components and structures in a fast-paced shop environment. This role involves working with a variety of materials, including stainless steel, and requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and pride in producing high-quality work.

The ideal candidate has fabrication experience, strong welding skills, and the ability to work independently while contributing to a team-focused environment.

Key Responsibilities

Fabricate, fit, and assemble custom metal components and structures
Perform MIG and TIG welding on a variety of materials, including stainless steel
Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and fabrication layouts
Operate fabrication equipment and power tools safely and efficiently
Grind, finish, and prepare materials to meet quality standards
Assist with shop organization, material handling, and workflow efficiency
Maintain welding equipment and ensure a clean, safe work environment
Collaborate with team members to complete projects on schedule

Qualifications

Previous experience in welding and metal fabrication
Experience working with stainless steel is required
Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings and measurements
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
Experience operating shop equipment such as press brakes, ironworkers, forklifts, or plasma tables is considered an asset
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong focus on workplace safety and organization
