Full job description

Overview
Durose Manufacturing Ltd, A leader and progressive manufacturer of fabricated Steel products, is seeking a Steel Fabrication Detailer, with experience in a steel fabricating/welding and machining environment for their facility in Guelph.

Responsibilities

Adhering to engineering policies, engineering standards, drafting conventions and procedures for all engineering and technical duties performed.
Prepare detailed structural steel shop drawings and erection drawings
Interpret architectural and structural engineering drawings and specifications
Generate bills of materials and fabrication lists
Ability to work in both 2D & 3D software.
Modeling customer drawings to obtain component development using SolidWorks 3D and DraftSight, flat plate development.
Creates all production drawings and shop floor paperwork and revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements, including revision and document control management.
Designing fixtures, jigs and templates to suit light to heavy plate steel assemblies.
Process routing structuring/bill of material creation in our ERP system

Experience

Post- Secondary Education - Manufacturing Engineering Technician/Technologist or Mechanical Engineering Technician/Technologist or equivalent
Mandatory Qualification- minimum 3-5 years experience in steel detailing (fabrication focused), including stringers, stairs, platforms, railings, etc.
Manufacturing knowledge regarding sheet metal and plate fabrication and a general understanding of welding concepts is required
Familiar with Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing.
Knowledge of sheet metal nesting software and laser and plasma cutting
Experience in Microsoft Office Suite.
Familiarity with full ERP system terminology and functionality.
Technical liaison with customer engineering, vendors, internal Production, Quality, Sales, Purchasing, Estimating and Account Managers.
Plan and prioritize engineering projects as required.
