Full job description

SwissRidge Kennels is seeking an experienced, dedicated, and passionate dog trainer. This position focuses on training young puppies in our puppy development and training programs.

You will be responsible for teaching puppies foundational obedience skills, socializing them in a variety of environments, and helping prepare them for success in their future homes.

Responsibilities:

Train young puppies using positive reinforcement and marker-based training methods.
Teach foundational skills including:
Sit
Down
Come
Stay
Leave It
Watch Me
Place
Loose-leash walking
Socialize puppies in a variety of environments and settings.
Monitor each puppy's progress and tailor training to their individual needs.
Write detailed weekly training reports for clients.
Take photos and videos of puppies throughout their training journey.
Maintain training records and communicate effectively with management and clients.
Ensure all puppies are handled safely, confidently, and compassionately.

Qualifications:

Minimum 3* years of professional dog training experience*.
Strong experience using positive reinforcement and marker-based training methods.
Confident working with young puppies and developing foundational skills.
Excellent understanding of canine behavior and learning theory.
Strong written communication skills for client reports.
Comfortable taking photos and videos for client updates.
Organized, reliable, and able to work independently.
Positive attitude and a genuine passion for dogs and puppy development.
