Network Support Technician (NOC 22220)

Job Reference Number: NST-CGY-01

Location: Calgary, Alberta

Position Type: Permanent, Full-Time

Number of Positions Available: 5

Hours of Work: 30–40 hours per week

Wage: $38.40 per hour

E-NET Solutions Inc. is a Canadian telecommunications and technology services company providing telecommunications infrastructure, fiber optic solutions, structured cabling, network deployment, technical support, and information technology services throughout Western Canada.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer LANs, WANs, internet connections and networking equipment.
Install, configure, maintain and support routers, switches, wireless access points, firewalls and related infrastructure.
Monitor network performance and implement corrective measures.
Diagnose and resolve network connectivity, hardware and software issues.
Provide technical support to end users.
Implement and maintain network security measures.
Perform routine maintenance, upgrades, backups and monitoring.
Document configurations and maintenance activities.
Coordinate with vendors and service providers.
Assist with VoIP, telecommunications, wireless and fiber optic solutions.
Participate in testing and optimization of network systems.
Ensure compliance with company policies and safety procedures.

Employment Requirements

Diploma or degree in Computer Networking, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science or related field; or equivalent experience.
Minimum 1 year related experience.
Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, wireless networking and network security.
Strong troubleshooting, communication and organizational skills.

Work Conditions and Physical Requirements

Fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
Combination of office, customer-site and field work.
Work under pressure and manage large workloads.
Travel to customer and project locations as required.
Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Lift, carry, push and pull tools, equipment and materials.
Stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch and reach for extended periods.
Work at heights and in confined spaces when required.
Climb and work from ladders up to 32 feet in height.
Occasional work outside regular business hours may be required.
