Full job description

We are seeking an experienced Estimator - Municipal Infrastructure to play a vital role in delivering complex civil projects that serve communities and cities. This full-time position based in Calgary offers the chance to work on high-impact water, wastewater, and bridge infrastructure, collaborating with diverse stakeholders and driving cost-effective solutions. Responsibilities:

Prepare detailed cost estimates for municipal civil projects including water, wastewater, and bridges from concept to tender.
Conduct comprehensive material, labour, equipment, and subcontractor take-offs, calculating unit costs, labour rates, escalation, and contingency.
Lead estimating workshops and facilitate transparent cost decision-making with project owners and partners.
Present and defend complex cost data confidently in meetings and discussions.
Collaborate with operational teams on constructability and pre-construction support, including procurement, scheduling, and logistics.
Maintain accurate records and ensure estimates meet project specifications, schedules, and budgets.

Qualifications:

Post-secondary degree or diploma in construction, engineering, or a related field.
Proven experience in municipal civil estimating, especially water, wastewater, and bridge projects.
Proficiency with advanced Excel and cost estimating software.
Strong understanding of full project cost estimation, from design to tender.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex data simply.
Experience working in collaborative delivery models and leading estimating workshops is preferred.
Additional skills in transportation infrastructure, constructability, and mentorship are advantageous.
