About the role.
This summer Agriculture Technician position is an entry-level, temporary role ideal for individuals interested in agricultural sciences, supply chain management, or potato crop research. The role provides hands-on experience supporting the raw potato supply chain, with a focus on agronomy research, new variety trials, extension activities, and commercial crop intelligence through field production and storage management.
What you’ll be doing.

Support agronomy research trials from planting through harvest, including variety performance, agronomic practices, and soil health

Collect and record agronomic data such as crop growth measurements, disease observations, and yield estimates

Ensure accuracy and consistency in record-keeping and sample handling

Assist regional agronomists with field day preparation, grower outreach, and extension activities

Participate in commercial-scale evaluation of new potato varieties for yield, quality, and disease resistance

Record and summarize observational data to support variety advancement decisions

Gather real-time crop intelligence through field visits across the growing region

Assist with crop health assessments, irrigation monitoring, nutrient tracking, and production insights

Support planting and harvest logistics coordination

Contribute to post-harvest data collection on storage conditions and product quality
What you’ll need to be successful.

Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to field locations

Ability to work outdoors in a variety of weather and field conditions

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established protocols

Effective communication and organizational skills
