Kindling Cannabis is a legal cannabis retail store that started in Little Portugal Dundas at 1567 Dundas Street West. About the Role
We are seeking reliable, customer-focused team members to join our cannabis retail store in a hybrid position that combines in-store Budtender responsibilities and Cannabis Delivery Driver duties. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy helping customers, working in a fast-paced retail environment, and providing professional delivery service.
Successful candidates must be available to work a combination of in-store and delivery shifts, with a minimum availability of three (3) days per week.
Compensation
Budtender Shifts
- $18.50 per hour
- Eligible to receive customer tips where permitted
Delivery Driver Shifts
- $17.60 per hour (Ontario minimum wage, subject to any future legislative increases)
- $2.00 per completed delivery
- Eligible to receive customer delivery tips
Compensation will be paid based on the duties performed during each scheduled shift.
Responsibilities
Budtender Duties
- Greet customers and provide exceptional customer service
- Verify customer age and identification in accordance with Ontario cannabis regulations
- Educate customers on cannabis products and accessories within regulatory guidelines
- Process sales through the point-of-sale system
- Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and merchandising standards
- Assist with inventory management, receiving shipments, and stock replenishment
- Ensure compliance with all applicable cannabis retail regulations and company policies
Delivery Driver Duties
- Safely and professionally deliver cannabis products to customers
- Verify customer identification and age at the time of delivery as required by law
- Follow all company delivery procedures and regulatory requirements
- Maintain accurate delivery records
- Handle cashless payment transactions as required
- Ensure products are transported securely and safely
- Represent the company professionally while conducting deliveries
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum age of 19 years
- Valid CannSell Certification (must be submitted with application)
- Valid Ontario G-Class or G2 Driver's Licence
- Clean driver's abstract and acceptable driving record
- Access to a reliable, insured vehicle suitable for deliveries
- Ability to pass any legally permitted background screening
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work both retail and driving shifts
- Availability for a minimum of three (3) days per week
Preferred
- Previous cannabis retail experience
- Previous retail, hospitality, or delivery experience
- Knowledge of cannabis products and the legal cannabis industry
Scheduling & Availability
- Employees must be available to work a combination of both in-store and delivery shifts.
- Employees may be offered optional or scheduled on-call delivery opportunities based on business needs.
- Any on-call scheduling will be administered in compliance with the Ontario Employment Standards Act, 2000 (ESA), including any applicable compensation and notice requirements.
- Shift scheduling will be communicated in advance whenever possible.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for extended periods during retail shifts
- Ability to lift and move inventory as required
- Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle for extended periods
- Ability to work in various weather conditions while performing deliveries
