Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Youth Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting and empowering young individuals, particularly those with disabilities. This role involves working closely with children to foster their development, enhance their skills, and provide a safe and nurturing environment. The Youth Worker will play a crucial role in facilitating activities that promote learning, social interaction, and personal growth. All staff are required to drive and have their own vehicle. Must be comfortable transporting clients for appointment and community activities and being reimbursed for KM.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement engaging programs and activities tailored to the needs of children, including those with disabilities.
Provide direct support to youth in various settings, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Foster positive relationships with children by encouraging participation and providing guidance.
Collaborate with parents, educators, and other professionals to create an inclusive environment that supports each child's development.
Monitor progress and behavior of youth, documenting observations and reporting any concerns to appropriate staff.
Facilitate group discussions and activities that promote teamwork, communication skills, and conflict resolution.
Assist in teaching essential life skills through structured programs and hands-on experiences.

Qualifications

Experience working with children in educational or recreational settings is preferred.
Background in teaching or educational support is highly desirable.
Familiarity with working with individuals with disabilities is a plus.
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with youth from diverse backgrounds.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.

2 year minimum Social Service worker, CYW, DSW or related diploma
Recent broad record check (Police check, within 6 months)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour
