Job Summary
The Manufacturing and Design Engineer will participate as an integral member of our Engineering team in defining designs in SolidWorks for new and existing products utilizing best DFM/DFA practices. The work carried out will enable the production floor to CNC machine and fabricate our customer's requests. Our core competencies in-house include Metal Fabrication, CNC Machining and Integrated Assemblies. This position will also support other mechanical design and development activities within EM Dynamics.

Job Duties:
- Analyze engineering drawings thoroughly to ensure design accuracy and feasibility.
- Develop technical part and assembly drawings using SolidWorks.
- Perform Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) analyses to optimize product designs.
- Design jigs, fixtures, and tooling to support manufacturing processes.
- Generate and maintain efficient manufacturing procedures using the ERP system.
- Program NC Laser and Combo machines for production.
- Build, test, and evaluate prototypes to validate designs.
- Maintain configuration management including Bills of Materials (BOMs), Engineering Change Orders (ECOs), and related documentation.
- Provide technical support across departments to resolve design and manufacturing challenges.
- Collaborate closely with shop floor and quality assurance teams to identify and mitigate manufacturing issues.
- Perform other engineering-related duties as required to support business objectives.
Qualifications/Education/Technical Skills:
- Degree or Diploma in Manufacturing/ Mechanical / Industrial Engineering from a recognized college or university or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 4 years of SolidWorks experience (CSWP preferred):
- 3D modeling, 2D drawings and all Sheet Metal features.
- Excellent knowledge with regards to engineering drawings, part/assembly tolerances and GD&T requirements.
- Knowledge of material science and material properties.
- Excellent knowledge of engineering welding standards and symbols.
- Knowledge of reverse engineering and DFM/DFA concepts
- Good verbal and written communication in English.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).
- Previous work experience in a manufacturing facility (preferred).
- Basic understanding of standard qualifications (AS9100, ASME, etc.)
