IZUMI AQUACULTURE - GROW-OUT FARM AQUACULTURE TECHNICIAN

Izumi Aquaculture is looking to fill a position for GROW-OUT FARM AQUACULTURE Technician based on the following:

LOCATION:

· Uxbridge, Ontario

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure a safe working environment
Feeding fish as required
Assisting with fish shipments
Assess water levels for PH and Oxygen
Assisting with any fish moves within the farms and sampling of the fish
Feed Monitoring
General fish health and husbandry
Update software with daily data
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Continuous monitoring of fish and farm related issues
Updated software Aqua Manager

QUALIFICATIONS & POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

University or college degree in aquaculture or a related field (an asset but not required)
Minimum 3 years aquaculture experience required
Proven Communication skills and interpersonal skills
Background in Animal Husbandry
Ability to perform physical labour
Open availability for all shifts
Requires valid driver’s license and own car

GENERAL TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Hours of work are generally between 8a.m. to 5p.m. per shift. Potential on-call, evening, weekend and holiday work so the individual needs to be available on a rotational basis. Emergency situations will arise from time to time which may require on-site attendance.
