Video Editor – Final Cut Pro

Freelance Contract | Ongoing Project-Based Work

Antares Media is a Toronto-based creative production studio producing cinematic video content for businesses, brands and organizations.

We’re looking for a skilled and reliable freelance Video Editor to work with us on an ongoing, project-by-project basis. This is not a beginner position. We need someone who understands storytelling, pacing, music, sound design and exceptionally strong colour grading.

What You’ll Be Doing:

Editing corporate videos, brand films, interviews and social content
Professionally colour correcting and grading footage
Cleaning and mixing dialogue, music and sound effects
Creating short-form edits for social platforms
Following creative briefs while also bringing your own ideas to the edit
Keeping up with current editing styles, platform trends and post-production techniques
Organizing projects properly and meeting agreed-upon deadlines

What We’re Looking For

Strong proficiency in Final Cut Pro and DaVinci Resolve is required
Excellent colour-correction and colour-grading abilities
Strong sense of storytelling, pacing, music and sound design
Detail-oriented, proactive and able to work independently
Consistent communication and reliable turnaround times
Your own professional editing system and software
Experience with Motion, or After Effects is an asset

Compensation

$40–$60 per hour, depending on experience, portfolio and project requirements. Fixed project rates may also be arranged.

This is an ongoing freelance contract with the potential to develop into a more regular role as Antares Media continues to grow.

Pay: $40.00-$60.00 per hour

When working remotely, how do you communicate project progress, flag delays and ensure deadlines are met?
Do you own and maintain a professional editing system capable of handling 4K footage, Final Cut Pro projects, professional colour grading and large media files?
Are you willing to complete a short paid test edit as part of the selection process?
What is your current weekly availability, and what would be your typical turnaround time for a 60–120 second brand film?
Please share one or two portfolio examples and briefly explain what you personally handled, including editing, colour grading, sound design, motion graphics or other post-production work. Please provide a direct, publicly accessible link to your portfolio, editing reel, or selected video work.

Experience:

Final Cut Pro: 3 years (preferred)
color grading: 3 years (preferred)

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Toronto, ON (Toronto District)
