Full job description

Job Summary
The Human Resources Administrator (HRA) is a key figure in the organization, tasked with supporting the administration of all HR actions. This includes the creation and implementation of policies and procedures, managing employee relations, supporting recruitment and selection, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. The HRA is also responsible for providing functional support to the Executive Director and Program Manager to ensure effective and timely employee performance management, and well-being initiatives. They provide administrative support for employee relations matters, such as handling conflicts, grievances, and disciplinary actions. The HR administrator will be committed to maintaining a positive work environment that fosters growth, development, and success for all team members.

Responsibilities

· Acts as the Human Resources Administrator for all assigned staff for a range of Human Resources strategic initiatives and services and guides.

· Build positive working relationships with client, management employees.

· Demonstrates a thorough understanding of all HR programs and services by providing accurate decisions on behalf of ED, advising, and ensuring the fair and consistent application of HR policies and procedures for all client activities and initiatives.

· Involved in daily employee and labor relations as required.

· Supports management in performance management, discipline, and termination meetings.

· Conducts fact-finding investigations and develop reports and maintain files

· Supports and suggests creative ways to implement culture and support workplace culture

· Maintain accurate and detailed HR files, record keeping, databases

· Has a deep understanding of clients’ specific service delivery models and objectives and proactively supports strategic management coaching and advises on sensitive and confidential matters, including labor relations, leadership coaching, performance management, team building, and engagement.

· Supports the diagnoses of issues, supports solutions, and develops/delivers focused and effective solutions to support the achievement of client needs and goals through a cultural approach.

· Works closely with the Director and management team to proactively identify and lead new people opportunities for the NWRCT and service enhancements within the strategic objectives.

· Support the execution of staff meetings, identify successful change strategies for HR initiatives, and provide change management leadership and support for departmental initiatives.

· Supports the registration and record-keeping of training

· Supports the administration of full-cycle job posting and recruitment processes.

· Supports the management of leaves, Disability claims and assists with Return-to-Work for files.

· Support and execute the Health and Safety Initiatives as co-lead and certified Management Representative on the Joint Health and Safety Committee.

· Maintains appropriate record-keeping and reporting by NWRCT policies and procedures, as well as confidentiality/privacy policies.

· Maintains a high level of confidentiality when working with sensitive employee and contract information.

· Draft new policies and procedures or updates as required and requested by the executive director and ensure that best practices are always incorporated.

· Develop and implement appropriate systems and efficiencies to ensure monitoring of delivery of operations, staff expectations, and initiatives in compliance with work schedules and outcomes.

· Provide regular reports and updates to the Director and management teams when required.

· Supports NWRCT's mission, vision, and values.

· Performs other duties as required.

Skills

· Post-secondary completion in Human Resources, Business Administration, or another related field.

· Strong verbal and written communication skills, this role is heavy on administration and organizational skills of high calibre required.

· Excellent Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture and teachings. Exposure to practices, ceremonies, and ways of doing and being.

· Professional practitioner with functional exposure to all areas of HR, accustomed to working with minimal supervision and acting.

· Minimum of 5 years of experience with 2 years as a manager is an asset.

· Proven analytical and problem-solving skills.

· Proficiency with MS Office tools, particularly Excel, Word and PowerPoint, internet, and general office equipment.

· Current Police Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Screenings are required.

· Ability to proactively identify and analyze issues in the workplace and design and implement solutions.

· Exceptional relationship-building skills.

· Knowledge of employment/labor laws and general human resource policies and procedures.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
