Full job description

We are seeking a full time in office medical receptionist for a busy family practice based in Scarborough.

Job Type: Full Time

Hours of Work: Monday and Friday

Salary/Wage: Starting at $19-$20hour, dependent on level of experience and qualifications

Responsibilities:

Schedule/confirm appointments by communicating with patients, physicians, and allied health professionals part of a Family Health Team (FHT)

Communicate with patients through phone calls, messages and email.

Respectively respond to patient inquiry

Prepare, fax, and scan documents for physicians, pharmacies, and patients

Ensure a clean and organized reception area, as well as sterile examination rooms

Assist in all areas of the clinic

Follow up on lab results, doctor requests, and patient communications

Maintain an organized, professional workspace

Ensure up-to-date accounts of office equipment and supplies, including stock, orders, and maintenance

Assist with invoices and payment collection

Open and close the clinic

Complete other duties as assigned by physicians

PLEASE NOTE THIS IS A VERY BUSY PRACTICE AND WE ARE SEEKING AN INDIVIDUAL WHO IS KEEN TO WORK AT FAST PACE, CARES FOR OUR PATIENTS AND WILLING TO WORK WITH THE CHALLENGES WE ARE FACING AS FAMILY PHYSICIANS.

Requirements:

Experience as a Medical Receptionist is necessary.

Experience with EMRs, especially Accuro EMR

Experience with OHIP billing.

A mature, reliable, and trustworthy character

Outstanding communication skills

Exceptional command of the English language through both oral and written means

Excellent expression of disposition on the phone

Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and maintains a positive attitude while working

A dependable and punctual mindset

Ability to handle difficulty with tact and a warm and friendly disposition

Ability to maintain patient confidentiality

Ability to work well with others through a high level of interpersonal skills

Apt to work well under pressure and challenges that may be faced

Ability to complete high quality work in compliance with clinic standards

Capacity to multitask with excellent organizational and proactive ability

Ability to pay strong attention to detail

Ability to offer a professional demeanor in the workplace

Ability to learn and retain large quantities of information regarding procedures and products offered by the clinic

Propensity for computer skills and scheduling systems within the environment of a busy practice with many physicians involved
