Position Overview
As an Obstetrics Registered Nurse with Augury Healthcare, you will provide specialized nursing care to mothers and newborns throughout the maternity care journey.
You will support patients during labour, delivery, postpartum recovery, and newborn care while collaborating with physicians, midwives, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to promote safe and positive maternal-newborn outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities may include:
- Providing safe, competent, and compassionate nursing care in Obstetrics and Labour & Delivery settings
- Performing maternal, fetal, newborn, and postpartum assessments
- Monitoring maternal and fetal health throughout labour and delivery
- Supporting labour, delivery, recovery, and postpartum care
- Providing newborn care and supporting family education
- Administering medications and treatments according to clinical standards
- Recognizing and responding to changes in maternal or newborn condition
- Collaborating with physicians, midwives, nurses, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Maintaining accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Following facility policies, procedures, and professional nursing standards
Qualifications
Successful candidates must have:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) or eligibility to obtain Ontario registration
- Minimum 2–3 years of recent Obstetrics or Maternal-Child nursing experience
- Current BLS certification
- Recent Labour and Delivery experience
- Strong experience in Perinatal Nursing, Obstetrics, or Maternal-Newborn Care
- Strong clinical assessment and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced clinical environments
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities
- Willingness and ability to travel to Northern Ontario communities
Preferred qualifications:
- NRP certification
- Fetal monitoring certification
- ACLS certification
- Rural or remote Obstetrics experience
Assignment Locations
